I think all countries have holidays like this. There was a time when I was very diligent in studying and working day and night, regardless of holidays or normal days. That was when I was young and had no wife or children. As I got older and had a family, I realized that I had very little time for my wife and children. Therefore, these days I will spend time with my family.
With 4 days off, I have a very shortened schedule
1. Buying a bicycle for my little daughter
As I write these lines, I am trying to write as fast as possible and then I will drive to the store to buy a bicycle for my 4-year-old daughter. Before, she always wanted me to carry her or piggyback her when going out or going from home to school. And I told her that if she did not walk, her legs would be weak and she would not be able to ride a bicycle. I promised that if she walked to strengthen her legs, I would buy her a bicycle. Haha, since then, my little girl has been walking more often. And today I will buy a bicycle for her to practice riding a bicycle.
2. My whole family will go back to my hometown
My whole family has decided to go back to my hometown together. The first place is my wife's parents' house. I respect my wife very much and I also agreed with my wife that on any day I go back, half of the time will be at my wife's parents' house and the other half will be at my parents' house.
Luckily, the two families live quite close to each other, only a 30-minute drive, so we can completely take the initiative to go back and forth.
3. What will we do when we go back to my hometown?
For me, I have to sleep first, then I will walk around the village and sit and talk with my parents. I am very shy when talking to my parents on the phone, so I like to listen to stories directly from my parents and siblings.
My wife is the same, every time she goes to her parents' house, she really likes to stay home to clean and talk with them, usually my wife and I don't like to go out and spend more time with our parents.
My daughter is different, she will love having a new bike, she will ride around the yard with my brother and sister's daughter. And the two sisters also like to share toys and play together.
If nothing changes, my whole family will return to the city after 4 days and continue working and studying.
I read a pretty good passage like this: There is a place we call home, we are born, grow up and live there for the first 18 to 20 years of our lives. But when we grow up, we realize that the place we call home has become a motel. We only come back a few times a year, each time staying there for a few days and then continue to return to our daily lives.
The same goes for our parents, each time we come back we see them getting older, so we should try to live well, take advantage of the time with our parents if possible. Let's do a simple calculation like this: Your father is 65 years old this year. Suppose your father lives until he is 80 years old, you come back once or twice a year, then you and your father will only meet each other 30 times more. Thinking about this number is too little. So cherish the time you still have with your parents.
